The small bespoke jewellery box is now having its lift out tray made. This is made using sycamore, which is mitred and reinforced using rosewood mitre keys. The divisions are pinned into place using handmade sycamore dowels. The tray bottoms are then lined with a light blue velvet which complements both the sycamore and rosewood.
All the components are sanded with a fine 320 grit sand paper and then everything is finished using several coats of tru oil, giving a nice lustre and satin finish.
Once finished I'll make a plywood box lined with thick foam to be safely delivered to its new home.
